Women in Golf Foundation Receives Make Golf Your Thing Grassroots Grant to Expand Access to Golf

Women in Golf Foundation Among 69 Organizations Nationwide Selected for 2026 Funding

Women in Golf Foundation has been selected to receive a 2026 Make Golf Your Thing Grassroots Grant, a nationwide initiative supporting organizations that expand access to golf and create opportunities for individuals from historically underrepresented communities.

Administered by the American Golf Industry Coalition and supported by industry partners, the Make Golf Your Thing Grassroots Grants Program is distributing $500,000 to 69 organizations in 2026. Since launching in 2021, the program has awarded $3.5 million in grants to 200 organizations nationwide.

The Women in Golf Foundation Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women and girls through golf. WIGF creates access and opportunity by developing leadership, life skills, and competitive excellence through youth, collegiate, and executive programming. The Foundation’s signature focus is strengthening women’s collegiate golf programs while building pathways into professional golf and careers across industries.

The grant will support Women In Golf Foundation’s ongoing efforts to expand programming that introduces more girls and women to golf, develops emerging talent and provides leadership-focused experiences that encourage participants to grow within the game. Funding will help enhance instructional opportunities, participant resources, mentorship initiatives and programs designed to support girls and women at different stages of their golf journey.

“We are honored to be selected as a recipient of the Make Golf Your Thing Grassroots Grant,” said Destany Hall, Executive Director of Women In Golf Foundation. “This support allows us to continue introducing girls and women to the game while creating experiences that help them grow as players, leaders and future contributors to golf. Our work is about more than participation. It is about helping girls and women recognize their talent, build their confidence and understand that there is a place for them in every part of the golf industry.”

The Make Golf Your Thing Grassroots Grants Program supports organizations that use golf to create opportunities, develop life skills and strengthen communities. Recipients represent a wide range of missions, including youth development, education, mentorship, adaptive recreation, workforce readiness, community engagement and Veteran support.

Golf participation continues to grow across the United States. According to the National Golf Foundation, 48.1 million Americans engaged with golf in 2025, representing a 55 percent increase over the past decade. Participation among women, people of color and juniors increased 46 percent, 61 percent and 58 percent, respectively, during that period.

Make Golf Your Thing is a movement focused on expanding access to golf and creating opportunities for more people to experience the sport. Through partnerships and community-based programs, the initiative supports organizations working to make golf more welcoming and accessible.
