$40,000 Investment in Excellence: Supporting the Future of Collegiate Women's Golf

The scores have been tallied. The trophy has been awarded. But the impact of the 2025 National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship is just beginning.

This year, the Women in Golf Foundation is proud to award $40,000 to the women's golf teams who competed in our championship. These aren't symbolic checks or congratulatory gestures. This is real money going directly into programs that need it most—funding team travel, tournament entry fees, coaching resources, academic support, and equipment that many programs simply can't afford on their own.

For too long, women's collegiate golf has operated on shoestring budgets while their counterparts play with fully funded programs. We're changing that, one championship at a time.

Where the Money Goes

Let's be clear about what $40,000 means for a women's golf program.

It means a team can afford to travel to a regional tournament they'd otherwise have to skip. It means new grips, golf balls, and range finders that actually work. It means hiring an assistant coach or bringing in a sports psychologist for a semester. It means academic tutors who understand the demands of being a student-athlete. It means the difference between a program that survives and a program that thrives.

These funds go directly to the teams—no bureaucracy, no strings attached. Coaches know what their programs need, and we trust them to make those investments wisely.

Part of a Bigger Commitment

This $40,000 is part of our $340,000 total contribution to collegiate women's golf—an investment that reflects our belief that these programs, these coaches, and these student-athletes deserve the same resources and opportunities as any other Division I or Division II program in the country.

For 30 years, WIGF has been building a pipeline that carries young women from their first swing to college and beyond. The National Women's Collegiate Golf Championship isn't just a tournament. It's a professional development lab, a networking opportunity, and a platform that gives these teams visibility they don't get anywhere else.

But visibility alone doesn't keep programs running. Funding does. And we're committed to making sure these programs have what they need to compete, recruit, and build legacies.

Why This Matters

Here's what we know: women's golf scholarships go unused every year. Not because there aren't talented players, but because the pipeline is broken. Girls start playing, fall in love with the game, and then hit a wall when they can't afford elite instruction, tournament travel, or exposure to college coaches.

Women’s golf teams, in particular, face compounded challenges. Their programs are chronically underfunded. Their teams don't always get invited to the showcases where recruiters are watching. Their athletes don't always have access to the same resources as players at Power Five schools.

So when we invest $40,000 into these programs, we're not just supporting one season. We're strengthening the entire pipeline. We're making sure the next generation of players has a place to land. We're proving that these programs are worth investing in—because they are.

The Ripple Effect

When you fund a women's golf program, you're not just helping a team. You're changing lives.

You're helping a young woman earn a college degree she couldn't afford otherwise. You're giving her access to networks, internships, and career pathways she wouldn't have found on her own. You're teaching her discipline, resilience, and leadership—skills that will serve her long after she hangs up her clubs.

And you're sending a message to every girl watching: You belong here. Your dreams matter. We see you.

That message matters. Representation matters. Investment matters.

Thank You to Our Partners

None of this happens without our partners and supporters who believe in this mission as deeply as we do. Your contributions don't just fund a tournament. They fund futures. They fund opportunities. They fund change.

To the sponsors who stepped up, the donors who gave generously, and the partners who've stood with us year after year—thank you. You're building something that will outlast all of us.

This Is What the Pipeline Looks Like

From beginner camps in Atlanta to elite training with touring professionals to a fully funded collegiate championship that treats these programs with the respect and investment they deserve—this is the pipeline in action.

We introduce girls to the game. We keep them in the game. We prepare them to compete at the highest levels. And we make sure that when they get there, the programs welcoming them have the resources to help them succeed.

$40,000 is a down payment on that vision. $340,000 total is proof that we're serious. But we're not done yet.

Because every girl who picks up a club deserves a clear path forward. And every program that invests in women deserves the funding to build something great.

That's what we're building. That's what you're supporting. And that's why this work matters.
