Women’s Collegiate Classic/Championship Stone Mountain, Georgia The organization hosts a major fund raising event, the Women’s Collegiate Golf Classic annually. It is an annual invitational event where selected women’s college teams are invited to participate and play for the Women’s Collegiate Championship. The trophy is the Renee Powell Cup, honoring Renee Powell, a pioneer African American Female professional golfer. The winning team is presented the trophy to display for the year that they reign as champions. It is returned at the next event for awarding to the next champion. The classic is a 3-day event, where Day 1 is a day for the college women to play with Business professionals, and Day 2 and Day 3 is the 36-hole championship tournament for the college women to culminate their season. In addition, a portion of the days are devoted to professional development for the college women where role model business leaders conduct seminars, lectures and panel discussions on various businesses and golf related topics.
The event is officiated by Georgia Golf Association/PGA professionals/USGA volunteers and results are reported to Golf Statistics. Results are also reported via major sports publications and media forums.
